Long-Distance Vehicle Courier

Long distance courier jobs can involve moving a vehicle from one location to another. While there are auto transport companies that can simply pick the car up, and transport it on the back of a semi-truck, many courier jobs require that the individual simply drive the car from a location to its destination.

Many automobile owners choose to have a courier move the vehicle from one location to another, to avoid it from being scratched or damaged which is a possibility during transit on a truck. Additionally, simply driving the vehicle to a different destination is sometimes an easy solution when the owner is moving to a new home in a distant location. Other times, auto couriers will drive a college student’s vehicle home when parents believe the child is too inexperienced to drive long distances.

The Pay Scale

Long distance courier jobs typically pay by the mile, and by the load. If the courier is delivering heavy items, in their personally owned vehicle, they will usually be paid a larger amount than simply driving lightweight packages or documents. Typically, a freelance worker will be paid more per job than an individual that is employed by a company. However, the freelancer will be required to obtain special insurance and have enough liability to be covered as a self-employed businessperson.

Long-distance courier jobs make for the ideal lucrative business that is rewarding and enjoyable. It offers a sense of freedom, where the courier can typically set their own schedule, and determine the price they are willing to accept for the job. These jobs are available as a freelance opportunity, or employment with a large delivery firm. These jobs are both part-time and full-time positions, with most individuals enjoying their weekends at home with family and friends.

Long-distance courier jobs usually involve picking up and delivering merchandise and goods from residential homes and companies. It requires extensive driving skills, and the ability to locate addresses quickly. The equipment involved is typically nothing more than a reliable vehicle and a GPS device, along with necessary equipment and vehicle registration.
